What I Wore: To the PTA Meeting

Yup, it's that time of the year again - back to school!

Tonight I attended my very first PTA meeting - as a parent.  I used to have to go with my mom to these things when I was younger and they were kinda boring so I wasn't really into the whole PTA thing.

Anyway, because I have nothing better to do with myself now that I stay at home all day, I decided to become more active in my girls' schools as a way to keep busy - and mostly as an excuse for me to get all dolled up and be around adults.

Dress:  $22.80 at Forever21 {here // Shoes:  $29.99 at SM Store // Necklace (even though you can't see it):  Gift from Keena

See how excited I was to put on real clothes?

I kept it simple in this taupe colored shirtdress and paired it with my favorite strappy tan heels along with a tan bag to tie it all together.

Being that it was my first PTA meeting, I didn't really want to overwhelm everyone else with my awesome fashion sense right away.  Plus, it is a catholic school so I had to keep in on the conservative side.

This dress is actually great for students heading back to school as well.  Pair this dress with a pair of flats and a messenger bag and it'd be a perfect outfit for school!  The material is lightweight and the length is not too short - so you'll be able to stay within your dress code.

Shirtdresses are so comfortable and versatile and should be an essential part of any fashionista's wardrobe.  Now where's yours?
