Thursday Thoughts: A Call for Help

No matter what anybody says, you cannot take on the world alone.  Okay, well, you can - but you probably won't win.  Everybody, everywhere, needs some kind of support.  Family members, friends, pets, we all need someone or something to help us out every once in a while.

In life, we come across many different people.  Some good, some bad, some who seem to be good but end up being really bad.  We live, we learn (anyone else thinking of Alanis Morisette?).  Sometimes those lessons are good, and sometimes they're bad.  The bad ones cause us to put up our shields and try to close ourselves off from other people who may hurt us.  It makes it harder for us to open up.  It makes us think that we can do everything on our own.

Newsflash:  We can't.

Now, don't get me wrong - there are a lot of things that we can do by ourselves.  But there are also a lot of things that we sometimes think we're doing all by ourselves, when we're actually not.  All those people in your life who care about you?  They've been helping you all along.

Most times we overlook the small things that people do for us.  Whether it's your mother babysitting for you, your friend stopping by with pizza and beer for a night in, or your cat curling up in your lap to comfort you - all of those people contribute to your overall well-being.  Those are the people who got your back, and who's back you should have in return.

Where am I going with all of this?  Truth is, I could really use some support right now.  I've been in a fitness and creativity slump lately and haven't been owning up to the things I set out to do.  I need motivation and guidance and a bit of a kick in the ass to get shit done.

So, I'm calling on all of you, my wonderful blog support system, to help me out a bit.  Send me your positive vibes, tweet me whenever you drink water so I can drink more water too, tag me in your Instagram photo to help me get my creative juices flowing, text me some kick-ass inspiration throughout the day so I don't lose focus!

And of course, if you need the same kind of help or support in return, I got you!

  2. Hey Jessica! You know we are all here for you. :) A lot of the time people take blogging out of context. One may think its so simple and easy. Truth is, its anything but. We have obligations to our readers and have to have the creative juices flowing most of the time. But were human, and people need breaks and/or go through things. I am experiencing the same thing myself, however, I will do whatever it takes to help you. Whether its a tag or comment. I will try to do my part.   5. Girl I know its hard I have been in a slump all week.. I havent worked out since last Friday and Ive eaten frozen yogurt every night this week. I need a swift kick in the ass as well!

  7. Support is sometimes the best tool in being successful. A tip? Focus on why you want to be healthy or creative. Sometimes if you change the why..or hone in on the real reason behind helps motivate you a little bit. You got this girl! I am sending you good vibes!

  9. Forget about all the fitness fads like wraps and diets. Drink lots of water, walk if you can't run, play outside with the kids, eat healthy and have a positive attitude.

  10. How am I now seeing this post. Girlie you know I'm here for support. I dont have it all figured out in the fitness arena myself but Im trying and maybe that can inspire you to try too! Day by day and bit by bit. Drink lots of water and make healthy choices and thats the first step towards your goal! :)
