I feel like there should be a "Sunday Sweats" photo here, but I also feel like I should wait until I've actually done enough and written enough to earn the photo before adding it to this series.
So after realizing how embarrassed I felt after "talking the talk" but not even attempting to "walk the walk" in last week's post, I was motivated to try again and not make excuses about it. I'm glad to say that the past week has been mostly a win. Here's what went down:
Monday: C25k day one do-over. I rallied the kids and we all went together (Chloe rode her bike). It was fun and a great activity for us to do together before having to start on chores, getting ready for bed, etc.
Tuesday: I re-downloaded the Nike Training Club app and did the "Circuit Breaker" workout. It wasn't a long workout but I really liked it and was able to keep up with it most of the way (besides the push-up claps). Plus, doing it inside the living room (where it's like 90 degrees) really made me work up a sweat.
Wednesday: C25k day two done. The kids and I went together again and it was a bit harder to get them to keep together this time since Chloe wasn't on her bike. She's definitely not a fan of exercise. She even said "That lady is so bossy!" when I would call out whether it was time to run or walk and "I HATE THAT APP!" when she felt like she couldn't take it anymore. It was hilarious.
Thursday: Another round with the Circuit Breaker in the living room. I modified it a little and punched forward while doing "Box Shuffle" to work my arms. It made a difference and I had to work harder and use my core to keep my body steady and my moves precise.
Friday: The only day that I didn't work out during the week. After work, I ran errands, paid bills, and then went to watch Joey's softball game so I didn't get home until it was too late to go running.
*Saturday: We spent all of Saturday swimming at the water park and I left with my legs killing me after having to walk up stairs to get to the tops of the slides a bajillion times (okay, probably an exaggeration).
And that was my week in workouts. I'm excited to continue with everything this week. I'll be doing the C25k day three tonight which is pretty much the same as the last two times so it shouldn't be too bad. Hopefully Chloe's over her laziness. I'm also going to continue the Circuit Breaker workout and will try to incorporate weights to make it a little tougher and add another workout to my routine to make it a full 30 minute workout on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
So, how was your week in workouts? Did you accomplish any of your goals? Got any good recommendations for a quick workout to add to my routine?
